Training

Scouting provides many opportunities to learn new things. Leaders, parents, and scouts can all grow and learn so take advantage of Training.

Our Leaders are expected to be Fully Trained

  1. Youth Protection - now required with Adult Leader Application and must be renewed every 2 years.
  2. Fast Start - this is new fast start which is specific to the Leadership position.
  3. This is Scouting
  4. Leader Specific Training - listed under Fast Start training and specific to your Leadership role.

Most of our leaders attend many other training courses offered both within the Boy Scouts of America and offered through other organizations.

  • Weather Hazards
  • Water Safety
  • BALOO - Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation
  • CPR & AED
  • First Aid

We believe that our boys benefit from trained leaders.

A person does not have to be a registered volunteer to take Youth Protection training. To take the training, log into myscouting.org and create an account. From the myscouting.org portal, click on E-training and take Youth Protection. Upon completion, print a certificate and submit with a new application or submit to the unit leader for processing at the local council.
